Hit News’ final regular season poll is indicative of how competitive the top teams in Class A have been this year. For instance, Omaha North finishes two spots ahead of Omaha Burke at #4–even though Burke is the only team to beat the Vikings this season.  And Bellevue West finishes one spot below the Bulldogs at # 7 despite their win against them.

The biggest surprise of the season is the outstanding performance of Class A newcomer Elkhorn. They finish their first  season in Class A at  7-2 and ranked # 9 in our poll. The Antlers have as good a shot as anyone in the Top Ten to clinch the Class A title–oh my!

Class A Player Facing the Specter of Class B Superiority

Oh yea! The McCook Bison still hold the #3 spot regardless of our current poll results that give them a clear edge (66% of the vote) as the fans’ No. 1 undefeated team in the state (click here to cast your vote).

The Class B Bison–yes! It’s a hard reality to bare that a Class B team is the best team in the state–will have to wait until after the playoffs before we determine who really deserves the mythical No. 1 2008 team title.

    Besides–the polls are meaningless now.

Good luck to all!
