Thomas Liechti, an Omaha Burke high school student, will be my Hit News.com’s point person for providing basketball coverage for our web site.

Liechti, better known on sports message boards by his username: Action Force, is also tentatively scheduled to make weekly appearances on Nebraska’s No.1 sports radio station 1620 am the Zone’s Nebraska High School Hoops Show.

Wow! So how does a teenage high school kid garner so much attention? One word: Passion!

I have read some of Action Force’s stuff on message boards, but last week I got the opportunity to hear him call into the Nebraska High School Hoops Show and he set the place on fire with his take on teams and players.

The kid was so dynamic and on point in his presentation that  Shillinglaw apparently asked Liechti to be a weekly contributor to his radio show.  Unaware of Shillinglaw’s request–and very impressed by Action Force’s radio appearance–I wrote a post on the  Huskerland Preps.com  message board for Action Force to e-mail me so that I could ask him to do some stuff for my Hit News.com.

There is no doubt when you read Action Force’s, err a Liechti’s message board posts or hear him breaking down basketball players and teams over the radio that he is passionate about sports. And when you combine his passion with his basketball knowledge  and his intimate acquaintances with numerous Nebraska high school basketball players and coaches—Liechti is as good a source as any to find out who’s hot and who’s not in Nebraska high school basketball.

Liechti knows some X’s and O’s too, as he has spent the past couple of summers coaching YMCA and AAU teams. Of course, still being in high school, Liechti has some time to decide whether or not he wants to pursue a coaching or broadcasting career. Our bet is that as long as Liechti keeps his passion and desire to learn  he will be find success at the end of any path he chooses.

Hear Action Force live on  1620 am the Zone

The Nebraska High School Hoops show is hosted by Dave Shillinglaw and it is scheduled to run every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7: 00 p.m. throughout the basketball season.

“If you are a high school basketball fan you don’t want to miss this show. A great host, knowledgeable guest and passionate callers make for a very entertaining program.”

expect big changes among the top ten after a few upsets have already occured this week and with the metro holiday tournament starting this saturday

Link exchange is nothing else but it is just placing the other person’s weblog link on your page at appropriate place and other person will also do similar in favor of you.
